I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve as North American Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Analytical Psychology, which has consistently provided diverse and rigorous ideas and vital clinical work from its authors. Joining the efforts to expand the Journal’s readership, I am also invested in enhancing the knowledge and visibility of analytical psychology as it is practiced around the world.
I come with a background in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an Expressive Arts Therapy Masters from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1986) with a focus in art therapy. My initial therapeutic training was with children at the Community Therapeutic Day School, an early intervention program that included a Tavistock method of observation and reflection - this immersion in developmental, attachment, and psychoanalytic theories established sustaining ideas within my clinical work that were interwoven with Jungian studies.
For many years, I was faculty at Naropa University’s graduate art therapy program and conducted independent art therapy research in a Denver hospital. This period inspired my interest in student research, presentations and publications. I graduated from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA) in 2010 and then, for six years, coordinated the Boulder Jung seminar, during which time, it was formally accepted as an official training seminar with the IRSJA where I continue my professional engagement as a Senior Training Analyst. I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado, USA, where I have had a full-time private practice for nearly 30 years.
