Mission Statement

The International Journal of Analytical Psychology was founded in 1955 by the Society of Analytical Psychology and remains the foremost publication for Jungian clinical thinking and practice, research and scholarship today. The purpose of the Journal is to provide a platform for Jungian analysts, clinicians and scholars around the world to share their insights, understandings and investigations into the nature of the human psyche and human experience through a Jungian symbolic, relational and developmental lens.

Our aim is to publish high quality, peer review papers, which enrich and deepen our knowledge of our shared field of practice and enquiry, and to disseminate current thinking in Analytical Psychology to colleagues from different cultures and regions. The Journal regularly hosts a “Meet the Author” online forum where readers can engage with authors of published papers, and it publishes informal blogs on contemporary themes thus providing an innovative space for reflection.

In conjunction with the Society of Analytical Psychology, the Journal hosts a triennial conference where analysts and scholars from around the world can meet, offer their thinking and research and share their experience of clinical practice. In addition, the Journal curates Special Issues on topics of contemporary relevance, and also offers professional development lectures, workshops and events on a regular basis to encourage discussion and debate.
